Quantity:

Makes 4 burgers

Preparation Items:

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and tzatziki sauce (for serving)

Preparation Method:

Burger Mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped mint, crumbled feta, chopped red onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well-incorporated.

Forming Patties: Divide the burger mix into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that's about 1-inch thick.

Grilling: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush each patty with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the patties on the FLAT basket, place them on the grill, and cook for about 25 minutes until they reach the desired level of doneness.

Assembly: Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute or until lightly charred. To assemble, place a patty on the bottom half of each bun, top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce. Cover with the top half of the bun.

Preparation Time:

  • Total time: 30 minutes
  • Active time: 20 minutes
  • Passive time (grilling & resting): 10 minutes

Drink Pairing:

A refreshing pale ale or a light red wine like Pinot Noir would complement the herby and tangy flavors of the minted lamb burger. For a non-alcoholic option, a chilled mint iced tea or a cucumber lemonade would be delightful.
